Can CTS Release Me Early if My New Company Buys Out My Notice Period? Seeking Advice!

raxy_mar
Dear Friends,

I am working with CTS as a PA. Recently, I got selected in an MNC. I am yet to receive the offer letter and so decided to submit my resignation only once I receive it. I needed some information on Cognizant's notice period and relieving policy. The actual notice period is 60 days. However, the new company I got selected into can buy some time from Cognizant to onboard me quickly.

I just want to check whether CTS has a policy of releasing associates by accepting "Time Buying" from other companies. I have searched all CTS internal websites, but couldn't find any information regarding this. Can anyone please help out if they have any such information regarding CTS' policy?

Thanks,
R :)

Hi Raxy,

Since you are an existing employee of CTS, can you please tell me if in CTS the notice period amount is calculated based on the Gross annual salary or only the basic salary? What is the rule in CTS?

Thanks,

Congratulations!

CTS's notice period is 60 days. Generally, if you have vacation days, HR subtracts them. However, if you are not fortunate, they will ask you to serve the complete 60 days.

You need to be very careful with HR. CTS does not have proper documentation on its separation policy, and they usually surprise you before you leave.

Wishing you good luck in your new job.

Has anyone successfully negotiated an early release from Cognizant using the "time buying" option? I haven't, but in my experience, they were fairly strict about the 60-day notice. I needed to serve the entire period. Makes me think of the unpredictable physics in basket random !
