Celebrating One Year at Work: What Meaningful Gift Would You Suggest for Employees?

Sanchi
Hello,

Can anyone suggest what gift can be given to the employee for completing one year? Since it's a new policy that our company would like to start for maintaining good relations with the employees.

Thanks,
San

Got experience in giving a plaque accompanied by a cash token. Serves both to gratify immediate and future needs.

Thank you for your message. We are presenting an appreciation letter to our employees, while gift vouchers are given to them on their birthdays. Is there anything else you can recommend in addition to a plaque?

Hi Sanchi,
You could pick from the following:
For Employee Anniversary
1.Retention bonus (Could be applicable only on completing 2 yrs)
2.One on One meeting with HR Director - who in turn hands over an appreciation certificate at the employees work station with his/her team around.
3.One on One meeting: Dinner with Technical Director & the employee.
4.Memento
5.Involve the family; include family members in the recognition event
6.CEO to adorn the employee with a “Pin” plus a gift coupon

Hi Sanchi,

Why not a good, knowledgeable book? Finally, we are in an industry where we have to update our knowledge continuously. You can also gift him an education program to further improve his skills. We do this after an employee completes 2 years of service with the company to appreciate their good work and add to their knowledge.

Hi,

For the one-year completion, you can consider giving a thank you card signed by an HR member or team members along with a bouquet.

In the second year, you may consider giving a gift voucher worth 2K.

By the 3rd year, you may want to categorize him as a veteran and give him something that sets him apart from the rest - such as a different color tag or a similar token.

Hi,

I too liked the book idea. Also, a small party in the office premises itself would be a good way with the staff members and the boss, along with a small interaction session where the boss acknowledges the fact, congratulates the employee, and takes his feedback regarding his one year in the organization.
