You have taken the first baby steps towards looking at innovative matters. You have in the presentation noted what your expectations are from the boss or the ceiteria against which assessment would be done. This is an important step. Againt it, however you have stopped short of analysing your boss & how he fares. It would be fruitful if you went through the celebrated book of Ricard semler -"Maverik" In the book he discusses as to how in his company subordinates are regularly encouraged to rate the performance of their boss & the findings are put up on the canteen notice boards /other public places. The boss who gets consistently poor ratings for three years are encouraged to leave.
The boss or rather the leader's job is very criitical. he can make or break the team depending on his appproach. good creative thoughts. keep it up
