Das Ki Kariye

Raati neend na aave taan das ki kariye,
ohdi yaad na jave taan das ki kariye,
baithe rehne aa udeek ch ohdi palka vichhayi,
oho aap na aave taan das ki kariye,
mar javange ohdi khatir ehna karde a pyar asin,
ohnu samjh na aave taan das ki kariye,
jide layi jagde haan sari sari raat asin,
je oho kadar na pave taan das ki kariye,
asin jinu apna, rabb mani baithe haan,
je oho charni na laave taan das ki kariye,

aukha hai vichhora, dona janeya layi iko jina
rabb mel na karave taan das ki kariye...........

I am born and brought up in Delhi and happened to be in Mohali Punjab for quite some time for professional assignment and learnt eda uda ada there only. Moreso since childhood I was following Jagjitji, Gurdas Maan Saahb, Surinder Kaur, Asa Singh Mastana to name a few. Bol Mitti deya babeya by Arun Bakshi is one of my favourite. Last but not least when growing up we used to get cassettes of Benjamin Sister from Meena Bazaar Jama Masjid and it was such a revelation as our elders used to tell us everything they sung related to the period of their childhood as well. Once again thanks a tonne from deep from my heart I am in my early fourties but you have brought 16 year child in me after 24 years. God bless.
