MIS means Management Information systems report. Diffirent types of reports are required by the management mainly in summary form from each dept to analysis of data.

Hi;
MIS is a database wherein all the information of the organisation iss saved for future reference. Say if a company needs to forcast its sales it can take into consideration the MIS report of the previous year sales. Hope this will help.

MIS (Mgmt Information Sys) is present status (what is what) of particular think, it may be dept wise, based on that the mgmt know about the current status of particular think, it may be HR/Sales/Production etc. It is must for keeping every department for forcasting etc.
