What Job Title Fits My Role Overseeing Multiple Departments in Engineering?

nehaneha
Hi,

I am working in a Heavy Engineering rolling manufacturing company and overseeing the following departments: Accounts, Procurement, Purchase/Logistics, Admin, Tech Support, and all business support for the Managing Director.

Please advise on the designation I should mention on my business card. This is urgent, and I am eagerly awaiting your response.

With warm regards,
Ash Mathew
Head - Business Support

This is what we provided the person in my previous company. I came up with it by asking the same questions as you asked, but on a different website though! Good luck, keep us posted on your final title.

This kind of profile only suits the designation of "General Manager." You may add Assistant, Deputy, or anything else.

Some best-suited titles could be:

1. General Manager, as has already been suggested.
2. General Manager - Finance, Admin & Logistics
3. Officer on Special Duty
4. Head of Operations

I would like to suggest two ways:

- You could take care of the activities of one branch; your designation would be Head - Branch Operations.

- You could take care of multiple branches; your designation would be National Head - Operations.

You can put your designation as "Chief Operating Officer."

I am also in a position like yours. I am looking after accounts, administration, and supporting the MD, etc., since ours is a small-sized company with 10 to 15 employees. I am known as Sr. Manager - Accts/Admin.
