Eligibale For ESIC Maternity Benifit..............

Dear all,
Myself Harpreet Lamba doing job in pvt ltd company in mutual fund Industry.My joining date is 19th Jan and I am going leaves on 20th Oct.I will be complete my 9 month on 19th oct in company.I am going maternity leaves on 20th oct.Please tell me I will be eligible for maternity benifit even I have not completed 1 year in company.I am permanet employe ein company.My ctc is 7500/- in hand i am getting 6422/- please tell me if i have eligible for maternity benifit then how much i will get pay during maternity leaves.

You are eligible. You should have served in the organisation for only 80 days. You will get the total salary what you are getting now.

effective october 2008, the no of days for maternity benefit eligibiltiy is reduced to 70 days and if you have worked for a minimum of 70 days in the preceeding 12 months period , you will be eligible for maternity benefit under esic act
