Free Email Etiquette PPT: How Would You Customize It for Your Team?

himanshudhaga
Dear All,

Another share from my side... A PowerPoint presentation developed by me for my organization on email etiquette. (Of course, I have used various sources from different websites).

It's free to download, free to customize according to your views, and free to upload with changes... just don't play with the authoring of the PPT.

The best thing one can do for a resource is to share it and never tamper or hurt with its owner's authority.

Regards,
Himanshu

Hi all,

Our office is shifting to new premises, and we are planning an opening ceremony and family get-together. I have been given full charge of organizing the event and the program scheduled for that day.

So, guys, please let me know what type of events I can conduct or how exactly I should plan for the day. The event will start around 4 p.m. Since this is my first event in this organization, I want it to be perfect.

I am in desperate need of suggestions. Waiting for your ideas!

Thank you!

Hey people,

213 downloads and only 4 replies... Where have our basic etiquettes and courtesy gone? Thanking is way far, but appreciating and thus motivating is something that could make a difference to the one who shares resources. I am not mad behind replies, but it makes me feel sad that after going through many soft skills presentations we are yet not mature enough to practice those soft skills.

Regards, Himanshu

Hi Himanshu,

Good work. But as I stated to Archna under the post - Organisational behaviour under Organisational development...

Quote:
Now, on your comments on NO feedback or "gratitude" - Archna, do not expect anything in return. Always remember - Do your duty with no expectations. It may be difficult in day-to-day life, but definitely possible in such situations.

Am I clear, Himanshu? Thanks,

Hello Himanshu!
A good PPT!
With reference to the slide saying
Don't automatically “REPLY TO ALL”.
Reply to all definitely does need to be used with discretion. However, in my observation there are perhaps equal number of occasions, if not more, when people just use reply rather than reply to all in when replying to emails, thus leaving some significant people out of the information loop.

That was really a good ppt. I'm planning to organize a session for my team on the same immediately. Thanks for the knowledge sharing.

Hi Himansu,

Good job! Perhaps you could develop this further into a book titled 'E-mail Guidelines.' It would make a valuable contribution to the HR community.

Hi Friends,

Thank you very much for your appreciation. It has motivated me greatly. I have initiated the sharing, so let's keep the momentum going by adding more shares. I humbly request all the talented and dedicated members of Cite HR to continue posting good work on the site to assist and update people on resources, trends, and strategies in the HR and Training areas.

Wonderful presentation! Last week, I had given some guidelines similar to those in this PowerPoint to my teammates in Hanoi about using email. I live and work in Saigon, Vietnam. This is definitely a must for novices in the company when it comes to using email.

Dear Himanshu,

It is indeed a nice presentation. Good for training purposes, especially for freshers and others in the organization who are relatively new to office emails. Good job! I may use it for training in my organization with or without modifications and will definitely acknowledge the authorship each time I use it.

Hi, Himanshu,

I have recently joined my organization, and I was asked to write an article on email etiquette. Your PowerPoint presentation provided some really useful insights.

Thanks a lot! 😊

Hi Himanshu,

I personally felt the flow of the content was not well-structured; however, your effort in putting across a few important points is certainly commendable. Please don't take it otherwise as it is my personal feedback, and I am sure it was very much liked by a lot of people.

Best wishes,
Roy

Dear Himanshu,

There should be some self-restrictions by everyone when using emails, especially in the office. This presentation will help senior management in this regard. Your contribution is really nice.

Thanks and regards,

Nice post. However, could you please explain what you mean by including the examples in the slides? Nothing has been mentioned about them, and I have just been assuming. Keep us informed with more of such informative posts.

Hi Himanshu,

It's a wonderful contribution for me. We were thinking of having a training on email etiquette. However, I think I will be able to do it myself with the help of your PowerPoint presentation. :)

Thanks a lot, Himanshu! :)

Hi Himanshu,

You are right, i.e., after going through many soft skills presentations, we are still not mature enough to practice those soft skills. In today's date, everyone is an expert in soft skills, but no one is willing to implement them. Anyway, I want to express my gratitude to you for this PowerPoint file.

Hi Himanshu,

A good guide. You cannot blame people; probably the English language is a problem, but still, I feel abbreviations are acceptable. It saves lots of typing as long as the recipient understands.

Bye,

Hi Himanshu,

It was an informative post. I would like to know, what do you mean by "misusing the global distribution list"?

Hey Himanshu,

Thanks for uploading this presentation. One of the things I've noticed since moving to India is that people have a tendency to use short forms or slang words across email communications - glad that you have pointed that out as a strict NO NO!

Cheers,

Hi, Himanshu, great work done. I read your posting. Don't get disheartened if people are not giving responses. Things go this way nowadays - get and forget; it's the reality of the present time. But I must tell you, your efforts are reflecting in your PPT. Keep it up.

Hi Himanshu,

Thank you for sharing the PPT. I am working as an HR professional in a construction company. Currently, I am in the process of encouraging our employees to use their corporate email IDs. This presentation will be helpful in assisting them to better understand the process.

Thank you.
