Hey there,
Very well put. I am new to this site and must say I am impressed with what you have put together. I do a lot of work on culture and language enhancement (English through phonetics) for various countries for many companies, anyone out there who needs any assistance, get in touch.

Hi pakhi
when you mention, "the test.what was the part n parcel in that" and when the thread heading as given by ash "A .ppt on Emotional Intelligence that you may use" and when she says "I recently conducted a test..." ...
got me foxed;
And I somehow thought, like you, that the test was part n parcel of the ppt or vice-versa.
And I was scratching my head on 'how on earth can one devise an instrument based on the ppt, make a scoring/grading system and then administer to employees and finally, provide feedback to everyone.
Now that Ash in her post has cleared the air, i am at peace.
There was an EI test - separate - results proprietary material of Ash & Co.
Then, there was a ppt presentation by Ash (while handing out the result) to explain EI - and this ppt one can use freely.
Well, an over-worked brain can hamper comprehension of even, simple tasks.
So, where does it puts me on your test, Ash.
Regards.
Ash Mathew
I would not be able to comment on you Sir - Just like that, with no test.

However, pls take the tests that are available online (I had posted a link in my previous post). That should give you an idea about your EI level.

Please note - there are a few different things you need to know while takign the test. A person with a low EI may be:

a) Some one who lets situation rule - and take decision when he is in pressure, without thinking about facts and rality. Emotions rule him. Example - A samll comment from a colleague might even make him go to an extent of putting his papers, and seek apologies from his colleague if he has to take back his resignation

b) A person with a low EI, may be - someone who vents his anger / emotions over others. His boss / spouse / kids / parents - might have told him something frustrating, he would go to office and vent his anger on his juniors (the vice versa too can happen)

c) A person who knows that others would feel bad if he is harsh, so he tries to cover their mistakes by taking all the burden himself - and he finally lands to bethe most pressurized. This is when people take advantages of his "positives"

d) A person may be aware of teh personal feelings. But he thinks that he should shout, show some anger - and only then get work done - will also have a low EI.

(These are just a few - a deep observations of people around you, will help you understand which emotion dominates them)
