There should be a specific timeframe within which compensatory off can be availed (which would vary between companies, but nonetheless, it cannot exceed a 30-day timeframe). But whatever said, I believe compensatory off cannot be adjusted against the notice period.
I also concur with the views of Meenu. Compensatory time off is outside the purview of the rulebook and is granted or availed based on exigencies or situations where one needs to oblige.
If a person resigns within the 30-day time frame and has 5 comp off days available in the leave account, can't he/she avail his/her comp off against the notice period? Please clarify.
How to make the final settlement if anyone does not serve the notice period. Which components will be payable, and which are not.
