Dear All,

Drinking a decoction made of fennel seeds soaked in warm water first thing in the morning could prevent you from catching swine flu, says a study published in a Chinese medical research magazine.

Fennel seeds - Saunf or Sonp (Hindi)
Fennel seeds - Peddajeelakarra (Telugu)
Fennel seeds - Peruncheeragam (Tamil and Malayalam)

Is this true? Is there any scientific basis for this claim? Because I'm going to take your post and follow it, believing it will prevent swine flu.

Welcome brother. I am following it as prevention is better than cure. Apart from that, I would like to share something that would increase the immune content in our body, which is 7 pranayamams by Baba Ramdev.

Please be warned that this is a 1-hour presentation and it is in Hindi; however, it is a great presentation of the techniques. If all can do the 7 pranayamams and the exercises sincerely, then there will be benefits.

Thank you, Malini, for the timely information! Intake of lemon juice also helps to a great extent. Another piece of information I received this morning was to "Use Eucalyptus Oil" on handkerchiefs and masks as one of the preventive measures against Swine flu. This advice was given by NIV - National Institute of Virology, Mumbai.
