JACK WELCH's LEADERSHIP LESSON

Shohra
This sounds so ideal. However, it is difficult to implement. Managers have different personalities and styles. If we wanted to implement this in my organization, we would have to either terminate most of the leaders and replace them by leaders who can apply these measures of success or implement some hard core training.
How can HR Specialists convince HR directors to do this?

Hey SHohra,
I know it looks ideal but you should read the complete book written by Jack Welch, I can assure you wont feel the same after reading the book.
I agree that different leaders have their own leadership styles which may not be adopted by all of them.
I'll get back to you on the other question soon.

Knowledge need to be linked with application. Knowledge without application is like house without roof.

In continuation to the article Shared by Archna, one questions from my side...to Archna and other participants of this discussion.
Are people born with "Leadership Trait" ..."Leadership Skills" or Leaders can be created? If, "Leadership Skills" can be trained...then why do we have so few leaders????
If you look around...you will see that we have great people around us...who are extremely well in marketing...but they are not leader. Does that mean...that is present senario...one of the skills that Leaders should have...is to know "how to market and where to market?"
Awaiting your reply.

Hi,
That's a good synopsis of Jack Welch's book. Good job
Presently I am reading the 4E leadership by Jack Welch and I am glad I've been following some of his principles to the T.
A must read for all those who want be "Leaders" and not "Managers" and have a "ownership" feeling.
warm regards,
Mohini
