Essential Topics for a Manufacturing Training Program: What Should I Include?

Hello everyone,

I'm working in a manufacturing firm. Can you suggest what all topics are essential or should be included in a training program?

Hi CHUM,

Thank you for the post. I have prepared a training needs analysis questionnaire for staff but couldn't prepare it for the workers. How should I proceed with it?

Dear Isha,

Just go through this. And if you have any further queries, feel free to ask without hesitation.

For staff, select Behavioral Training topics like Good Customer Service and Time Management (Marketing Department mainly), Stress Management, and Team Building, which will be very useful to them.

Under Systems Training, cover Fire Fighting, First Aid, ISO, Housekeeping, and Safety at work.

At the end of each Excel sheet, I've written the procedures that I follow to assess the training needs of workers.

This was created by me, and I find it easy to follow. If anyone has another format, kindly share it and help Isha.

Hi Isha,

Good that you have started the process of creating a skill matrix for operators/shop floor workers. The concerned line executive should prepare the skill matrix, based on which you can design the training program. For more queries, please post them. Keep rocking!
