Adoption Leave Discrepancy: Why Are Private Sector Employees Left Out?

Is there any amendment with reference to adoption leave in the Maternity Benefits Act? Central government employees are allowed adoption leave, but private sector employees are not allowed. Can anybody guide on this issue?

It is at the discretion of the employer if they deem it fit; it is allowed. Otherwise, as per the Maternity Act, nothing is mentioned of such kind.

Maternity Leave for Second Adoption in Maharashtra

Is there any provision for Maharashtra State Government employees to avail of maternity leave for post-adoption for the second time? I have already adopted a first girl child and took maternity leave post-adoption for three months. Is there any provision for leave under the Maharashtra government for adopting a second time?
