I would also like seniors to please give me some of your knowledgeable feedback so that in the future, I can give my best shot. As such, I have started working on my another project.

Thank you.

Hi,

I failed to understand what the objectives of this study were. I think the scope and objectives should be clearly stated before initiating a study. What specifically did you want to explore while addressing the topic of employee relations? The section on the comparative study was good, but what was your objective behind it?

Regards,
Shijit

Hi Shijit,

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it a lot. From now on, I'll keep in mind the points you have mentioned. In the attachment, the objective of the study was not clearly specified on a particular topic. Instead, it was to gain practical knowledge for myself on employee relations. There wasn't a specific objective, but your feedback was accurate and very useful.

I really appreciate it, Shijit. If there are any more corrections to be made, please let me know. Thanks again.

Hi Shimit,

You have chosen a very interesting and sensitive area for your project. Although I liked your project, I have some suggestions to give you:

1. You can choose a better format for writing up your project.
2. As Shitij said very rightly, the objective is the soul of the study, so it should be more elaborative and explained.
3. Put some good examples you must have gone through while doing your project.

Vipla

Thank you for your input.

What I felt was that you stated a generic objective in your introduction as, "The objective of this study was to have an overview of HRM and Employee relations in the manufacturing sector in KISHORE PUMPS Pvt. Ltd, GREAVES COTTON Ltd., KINETIC ENGINEERING Ltd. The objective was to study the employee relations in the manufacturing sector." It appears very generic to me. Instead, objectives should be precise and measurable. I suggest delving into the factors or components that contribute to building better employee relations in these companies. A comparative study between the actual and expected factors positively affecting employee relations could be incorporated.

Shijit.

Thank you VIPLA and SHIJIT for your replies, and thank you very much for your valuable feedback. From next time, I'll take care of the things you have stated. I'm sure that it will not happen in my next project. Please, please let me know more of your feedback. I will be greatly obliged.

Hi,

A nice report. If you could add a few more words about the future of ER and the challenges of ER in the globalization process, your project will be perfect.

Thank you, KITHZ, for your valuable suggestion. However, I was not able to find any data regarding your suggestion. Please, if you can help me out with this or if you have any related data, it would be greatly appreciated for my project.

Thank you again. I appreciate that.

Hi Shimit,

Employee relations is a wide project. You have done great, but there is a little room for improvement in some policies. You are missing some standard benefits:

01. Gratuity
02. Accident benefit
03. Transportation
04. Leaves - Is it correct to have 21 SLs and 21 ALs, and 14 CLs? Please double-check.
05. Elaborate on career planning
06. You have not mentioned in your project which country is very good in employee relations
07. You can include employee engagement
08. Your conclusion is not up to the project level.

Overall, good effort, but some enhancements can be made.

Hello Seniors,

I have gone through the project related to Employee Relations. What you have mentioned is an outline of the whole thing; it's truly fine. If you delve into a deep study in smaller portions or departments, you can discover a lot of information that may not be mentioned in any books and can help in presenting things differently.

Hi Shimit,

It is a brave effort to start with.

Here is my feedback; most of it is critical since you have asked for it.

Did you intend to do a project work or a research work? If it's a Project Work, then it's too descriptive in the first place and also has a lot of contents that are totally unrelated to the topic. If it's supposed to be a Research Paper or Abstract, then it is totally void of any direction or purpose.

A Research Abstract just cannot be "Employee Relations"! Also, you will need to specify the reason why you chose this topic (which is nothing but the Objectives of your Research or Project).

You seem to have taken a lot of content from the Internet that has not been acknowledged or inscribed anywhere in the document. Besides, you also have a long way to go in managing your contents in the paper.

This post will not be enough for my feedback (and there is no word called "Feedbacks")... hence I am cutting it short here.

I am assisting postgraduate students in their Research Work. In case you need my professional assistance, feel free to email me at giri7int@gmail.com or post a query on the HR Blog that I run: The HR Knowledge Space.

I don't charge for any of my services.

And apologies if I have been harsh in my reviews.

All the very best, Shimit!

Hi Shimit,

I think that you have done more of CCP work and ended up generalizing the project. Your topic does not need a comparison with other companies as such, but obviously, you can add it to make it lengthy. Instead, you should have concentrated only on the single company. Even I am not sure whether you have interviewed the employees or not as they are the best source of information.

Furthermore, I felt it to be more theoretical than practical, and as you mentioned that all the companies were from the same sector but the modus operandi was different - in that context, that difference has to be there, or else somewhere a monotonous nature would arise.

Wishing you all the best for your future project.

Hello Mayank,

Thank you for your valuable input. I will keep in mind your suggestions for the next interviews with the employees.

Thank you so much.

Hi Shimit,

I just went through your report. You have to do some editing. The report should be structured as follows:

Cover Page
Acknowledgement
Objective of the Study
Scope of the Study
Introduction to Industrial Relations
Company Profile
Findings of Your Study
Suggestions for the Improvement of Industrial Relations
Conclusion
Bibliography

Prepare your report in this format to potentially score higher. Please provide me with your feedback.

Hi Pavitra,

Thank you for your valuable feedback. I was in need of that. I was thinking that something is missing, and that's what you have shown me. Thank you very much. I will surely apply your feedback as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Hi Shimit,

This is basically a nice report you have done, but the thing is when you make a comparative study (analysis which you have attached in the last few pages in the report of different companies), please don't include those kinds of reports in any kind of forum.

Vittal

Hello Sarita,

Thank you for your valuable feedback. Please don't take it the wrong way. Could you please explain to me how to add benchmarking in this report and what benchmarking actually means?

I am waiting for your reply. Thank you again.

I agree with Shijit. I liked the comparative study. But the project was lacking in many aspects. A good project should always have the following:

1. Objective
2. Scope
3. Overview of the Industry/sector - in your case Manufacturing
4. Methodology (Primary - Interview, questionnaire or Secondary research - magazines, websites, etc.)
5. Analyses & Findings - You can go for a diagrammatic representation.
6. Recommendation
7. Bibliography - mention the websites, books, etc., referred to for this project
8. Annexures - Attach all the documents (like the questionnaires, etc., used during the course of this project)

Hope this would be useful.

Hi Shimit,

Haven't you used any statistical tools or any survey to do this project?

Thank you.

Dear,

Please suggest to me, I want to know if PF registration is compulsory in any establishment employing 20 or more employees, all of whom are receiving more than 6500/- per month.
kapil_srkg
Hi Kapil A.,

Your report is good, but I would like to suggest the following:

1. It seems like a copy & paste report; however, it might not be. So, don't make the report too lengthy.
2. Add some analysis and charts.
3. Write in bullet points.
4. Focus more on the objectives, scope of the study, findings, methodology, and recommendations.

Regards,
Kapil A.

Dear friends,

Please inform if there is any opening in Vizag for a fresher in HR. I am looking for my sister who has completed M.Com., MBA-HR from IGNOU. She excels in communication and her work. We are specifically searching for any fresher openings in Vizag.

With best wishes,

Hi Shimit,

Your post was good, but I feel that whatever you have provided under "Conclusion" should be placed under "Suggestion." This is because you are only reflecting on recruitment, whereas your comparative study addresses different aspects like headcount, benefits, etc. Your conclusion should entirely reflect your study. A crisp consolidation of your study.

Regards,
Patricia

Shimit,

As suggested by Kapil, add more charts and tables because presentation matters a lot in a project. Hope the suggestion would be of some use. All the best for your next project.

Patricia

Hello! This was a good effort in making an overview of Employee Relations. However, I noticed that there was no mention of employee discipline. From where I come from, it's part of Employee Relations. Nevertheless, it's a worthwhile effort in coming up with this overview.
