New to HR? Seeking Advice on Conducting Performance Appraisals in an NGO Setting

Hello everyone,

I am a fresher who recently joined the HR department of an NGO. I have been assigned the task of conducting a performance appraisal of the organization. I have prepared the appraisal form and now I am seeking guidance on how to evaluate it.

Please advise me on how to conduct evaluations for both self-appraisal and appraisal from superiors.

Hi Sunitha,

I hope you have prepared the format. The evaluation part for self-appraisal should be based on Customer Satisfaction Survey. You have to prepare a questionnaire based on quality, communication, delivery, etc., where your immediate customer (neighbor department) rates you on a 5-point rating scale. Similarly, your superiors will rate you based on Job knowledge, Job improvements made, Personality, etc.

So, you have to compare the results and recommendations and finally rate again on a 5-point rating scale. I hope this will be useful for you. For more queries, please post to me. Keep rocking!

Thanks for your reply, but my question is about the method to evaluate the appraisal form that I have prepared. The form is structured around dimensions such as work output, job knowledge, interpersonal relations, and a few open-ended questions on their achievements.

My appraisal form consists of questions that are rated on a five-point scale and also includes a few open-ended questions. Additionally, could you please provide insights on how to set Key Result Areas (KRAs)?

Key Result Areas (KRAs) detail the activities, their targets, and completion time. I will share the format for the same.
