Hi,

Can anybody help me understand the difference between the Induction and Orientation processes?

Induction is a process by which a new employee is introduced to the organization, his department, and his job. The outcome of this process is orientation. If a new employee undergoes proper induction, he will get oriented to his new role.

Induction is the process by which incumbents get introduced to company history, department, HODs, peer groups, and overall culture.

Orientation is the step where the company defines certain rules and regulations for employment, ways of communication, and expects employees to obey the same by aligning their orientation toward the final goal.

Induction simply means Introduction one to one. Orientation broadly means the communication by the company for the expected behavior from employees.
