Facing Incorrect Tax Forms and Extra Salary Entries: How Should I Proceed with Filing?

taniachopra
I have this very serious and urgent issue related to my income and filing tax. I am working as a consultant, and the organization for which I am working has issued me a wrong Form 16A with incorrect entries. Additionally, my e-statement of Form 26AS from the Income Tax Department is showing an extra salary against my PAN card that was never paid to me.

It's time to file income tax, and nothing has been done from the organization's end. I have written about this issue to my organization multiple times. What should I do? Should I proceed with my IT filing? In that case, the return will not match with what has been submitted against my PAN card by the organization. This submission shows an additional salary that was never paid to me and a lesser TDS amount, even though more TDS was deducted from my salary.

Please help!

Better to consult with IT consultants. Below mentioned is my comment.
Now, you can request your company to provide a revised Form 16A. Alternatively, you can log on to incometax.com and register for free. There, you can view all your TDS details. For example, if you have worked for more than one company and they have deducted your TDS, you can see that information on this website. Give it a try; you will really know how much they have deducted from you and how much they have remitted.
