Can I Reapply for a Provident Fund Advance for Home Alterations? Seeking Advice on Rejection

govinds
I am a member of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation for more than 12 years, and my company is remitting the contributions correctly.

I had taken a non-payable advance after 5 years from the fund in 2002 for alteration/addition to my house.

After another 7 years in June last month, I applied again for another advance for alteration/addition to my house with all relevant details.

Last week, I received a letter from the PF office informing me that my application is rejected for the reason that there is no provision for giving an advance for the same purpose again.

It is not mentioned in the application for advance that it will not be given again for the same purpose.

I had clearly mentioned in the application that I had availed the advance earlier for alteration/addition to my house, and the person who accepted the application had seen that also. He did not say that it will not be given again for the same purpose. He asked me to produce the license number from the local authority sanctioning the addition/alteration, and I produced it along with the application.

After waiting for 14 days, I was informed that my application is rejected for the reason that it cannot be granted again for the same purpose.

Please inform me whether their action is justifiable. How can I proceed with my application again?

Awaiting your reply,

Dear Govind,

You can always apply for an advance from EPFO because it's your money. You can apply for house, education, marriage, and medical grounds, and you can get up to 85% of your own contribution.

I have been working with XYZ company for the past 2 years, and I had worked with ABC company for 4 years. If I transfer my 4 years' P.F. amount to my current company's P.F. account, would I be able to make a partial withdrawal as an advance? Please help me with this issue.

Thank you.

I am working with my present organization for more than 5 years. I want to apply for an advance from my PF for alteration/repair of the house. Please suggest:

1. The house for which I want to apply is more than 15 years old, but I have recently purchased it. Can I apply for the PF advance for alteration/repair of the same?
2. What are the documents required along with Form 31 and the declaration form to be submitted to the PF office?
3. What will be the normal time for the issue of advance?

Looking forward to urgent support.

Thanks & Regards
