How Can I Secure a Significant Salary Hike During an Interview? Seeking Advice!

Pushpendra Soni
Hi all,

How should I negotiate salary during an interview? What would be the best way to get a salary hike if I am going to be selected by a company that can offer a package 50-70% more than my current package? Should I mention a higher package than what I am currently getting, or should I simply tell them honestly what my present package is? In this scenario, I may not be able to negotiate, and I might only be offered a hike of 12-20% instead of 50-60%.

Please suggest what would be the right and best way...

Hi,

I believe salary negotiation is necessary during an interview. We should ask for 30-40% more than our present salary. However, if we state a figure higher than our current salary during the interview, it may not be appropriate as they usually request a salary slip during our first or second interview. Salary negotiation is a must, and that is my belief.

Hi Pushpendra,

Please don't make the mistake of providing false information. If you believe you are underpaid by your current employer and deserve more according to market standards, try utilizing your negotiating skills with your future recruiter. Showcase your skills during the interview and assertively discuss your salary expectations. Avoid inflating your current salary with incorrect information as it could lead to issues in the future. If your prospective employer discovers that you misrepresented your salary details, it could negatively impact your career. I have witnessed cases where individuals faced problems due to false information.

Before making any decisions, carefully consider the consequences.

If an employee is under probation and has been absent for the last month, can we send him a notice for unauthorized absence? If so, what will be the next course of action? Can we terminate his services by sending a letter, or can we stop taking his name in our Form-12 (attendance register)?

Kindly reply.

Thanks,

Salary Negotiation with HR

Can anybody help me out with salary negotiation with HR? Most of the time, I find myself stuck in between, and as a result, I end up agreeing to what they offer me. For instance, an HR simply says that they can't offer me that much of a hike. However, I never asked for an irrelevant figure. The HR says they don't have that much budget. My question is, what should I answer them in that case? Please help.
