Hi Swathi,
Plz don’t worry, since this is only 15 days you have joined the company. This is a normal / common issue in every organization. Since, you are very new to the company, try to understand what activities are going on in the HR department, and how are they handled by the respective authorities. Try to make yourself involved in the job by having a PROACTIVE approach. This will definitely help. Even though your colleagues or management don’t entrust any job to you, you need to be proactive, but make sure that, you are not annoying anyone. For example, if someone is doing any job, you can ask, “Can I help you with your job”, and believe me, nobody will answer “NO” even if they are not involving you in the job also. Try to find out if the HR Department has got any “HR Procedure or Policies” (generally a guideline book, that every company follows, which explains about the Recruitment and selection procedure, Work hours, Payroll process, Leave facilities, Disciplinary rules, Employee grievances redress, retirement and separation rules, Performance and appraisal policy, training and development, employee benefits and compensation, etc.)
And second thing is, plz check in your department, if there is a “Job description” followed for every employee. If your organization has a strong HR department, then I am sure, they must be having a Job description (roles and responsibilities of employees). If you find the job description, check, who are dealing with those jobs and talk to them. Slowly you will find yourself busy in work.
This is not a lecture, purely based on my personal experience. Believe it or not, I had taken six months to settle down in my job, and everything is normal now.
So, be positive and cheer up!!!
Regards,
