Hi Swathi,

Plz don’t worry, since this is only 15 days you have joined the company. This is a normal / common issue in every organization. Since, you are very new to the company, try to understand what activities are going on in the HR department, and how are they handled by the respective authorities. Try to make yourself involved in the job by having a PROACTIVE approach. This will definitely help. Even though your colleagues or management don’t entrust any job to you, you need to be proactive, but make sure that, you are not annoying anyone. For example, if someone is doing any job, you can ask, “Can I help you with your job”, and believe me, nobody will answer “NO” even if they are not involving you in the job also. Try to find out if the HR Department has got any “HR Procedure or Policies” (generally a guideline book, that every company follows, which explains about the Recruitment and selection procedure, Work hours, Payroll process, Leave facilities, Disciplinary rules, Employee grievances redress, retirement and separation rules, Performance and appraisal policy, training and development, employee benefits and compensation, etc.)

And second thing is, plz check in your department, if there is a “Job description” followed for every employee. If your organization has a strong HR department, then I am sure, they must be having a Job description (roles and responsibilities of employees). If you find the job description, check, who are dealing with those jobs and talk to them. Slowly you will find yourself busy in work.

This is not a lecture, purely based on my personal experience. Believe it or not, I had taken six months to settle down in my job, and everything is normal now.

So, be positive and cheer up!!!

Hi Swati,
I waited for 1.5 months before getting any work from my boss & after that I was always flooded with crucial HR responsibilities. So, don't loose your patience.

Dear Swati
Whenever u joined any organisation whatever our seniors says they never implement within short time they also need some time to asses the candidate while working with them and need to asses you with other collegues in the dept
You should do your job given from time to time and never get panic it may show the negetive sign on your part HR guys should have a patience in their work

Hi swati,
15 days is hardly any time to show and prove ur skills.
Why dont you talk to your boss about any work that they have..even if it means doin peon like jobs....
No offence meant, but once your dedication is proved, you woul be given the rersponsibility, however, i would suggest that you wait for atleast 3-4 months and dont quit the job.
Hope this helps.
Rgds.

I agree with what the other members have suggested. 15 days is too early to judge. Meanwhile you can understand the company, the current HR practices, future needs. And also, a one-on-one interaction with your boss would be better rather than keeping your apprehensions contained and being unhappy about it.
All the best buddy :icon1:

Hey Swati,
Just cool ..... I know it's kinda boring to sit all day and do nothing, but just think of it as your honeymoon period.
Lastly, 15 days is too short a period to think about changing your job. Just stick on for some more time and talk to your Boss.

Dear swati
Kindly think over it. If you are so impatient how you can handle HR responsibilities.
Try spaeking to them and ask for your profile and start working on it. All the Best.
