Hi,

If you are new to the field, you can start with books like:

- "Games People Play" by Eric Berne
- "I'm Ok, You're Ok" by Thomas Harris

It's important to know what area of psychology you are interested in and accordingly shift to books valid for the topic or more detailed ones.

If you are interested in Indian books on Human Resource Management, you may refer to:

1. CS Venkata Ratnam and BK Srivastava, "Personnel Management and Human Resources"
2. Arun Monappa, "Personnel Management"

Yogesh

Hi Sujata,

This book is easily available. If there is a bookstore that deals with quality textbooks, it is a book in frequent demand. You may not find this book at small bookstores. But any store keeping books of graduate level should have this book. As I mentioned earlier, this book is very well-known (perhaps the best known) textbook in psychology. As you are located in Delhi, finding this book should not be a problem.

Hi Sujata,

If you are interested in a book which deals with pure psychology and not organizational behavior (OB), you may buy or refer to the book titled "Psychology" by Robert A. Baron. The publisher is Pearson Education Asia, and the Indian edition is priced at Rs 350.

All the best,

If any one of you could refer any good book on Psychology. There is a good book by Morgan and King which is available in all the leading bookstores. It has an overview of all topics that are relevant for HR students. This is the book recommended for us MBA HR students as we have a course on General Human Psychology. Hi, Sujatha,

For an easy beginning, you can read "Introduction to Psychology" by Clifford T. Morgan, published by Tata McGraw-Hill, New Delhi.

The book on the power of frustration is very educative and informative. Frustration, I feel, should be avoided or reduced because it always affects performance and productivity. The level of one's frustration towards things is largely determined by our temperament, attitude, and values.
