I need an urgent help in this matter..
Case: employee at managerial position in a private co. places resignation with a willingness to work during the notice period of two months..Resignation placed on 2nd July, 2009 for which the notice period ends on 2nd sept, 2009.. Now can the employer co. hold the salary for the month of June, 2009 alongwith the notice period of 2 months of such an employee saying that it is the policy of the company...and shall release the payment only at the time of relieving the employee...
Is such policy be considered legal...?
Is there any remedy to such an employee..?
Please help me out in such a situation as the employee in above case is myself..
