Need to Withdraw PF After 2 Years: What's the Process and How Long Will It Take?

pradeepbagga
Dear Sir,

I am working in an IT company based in Noida. I have been working here for the past 26 months. Now, I want to withdraw my PF and close my PF account because I urgently need it.

Could you please provide information on the process for withdrawal and how long it will take to receive my PF amount?

Thank you.

Regards,
Pradeep Bagga

You will have to fill Form 10C & 19, get it signed by your employer (authorized signatory) in the previous, and submit the same in the Regional PF office where your account was maintained. It would take 3 - 6 months for the remittance to come to your bank account.

Dear Romit,

Currently, there is no provision for checking PF balance online; however, in the near future, it may be possible as the government is working on such an initiative.

I want to withdraw my PF. I've left my previous company after serving the notice period. Now, they are demanding one month's salary before signing my PF withdrawal form. Is there any other way to withdraw PF without their signature on the PF form? Please help.
saurabh.shrivastav
Sumit,

If you have already served your notice period as per your appointment terms, then why is your company demanding one month's salary? They cannot withhold your PF, and you may claim directly from the PF office where your PF was being deposited by your previous company. Include a covering letter requesting the withdrawal, along with Form 10C and 19 (fill in your portion), mentioning non-cooperation by your previous employer. However, my advice is to first try your best to resolve the issue mutually with their management. In an extreme situation, you can take such a step.

I'm sorry, by mistake I've typed 'with serving notice period'. I've not served the notice period. My previous company had the head office in Chennai, but I worked in their Delhi-based office. Should I mention the office address in PF form of Chennai or Delhi.

Hi Sumit,

What Saurabh is saying is correct. PF Authorities will accept Forms 19 & 10C (for withdrawal purposes) only two months from the date of release. You may get an affidavit from a lawyer if the company does not cooperate to sign those PF forms.

Did you formally resign or left the company without information? Was your resignation accepted, and was your relieving date fixed mutually? If you have not served the adequate notice period, then you should get this resolved mutually and then forward your PF withdrawal through your previous employer.

The jurisdiction of your PF account will be the Regional PF office where your contributions were being deposited, and it may either be at HO or at Branch level (depends upon organizational practice).

Hi,

You need to fill up Form 19 for PF and Form 10C for pension, and get them signed by the employer before submitting them to the PF regional office. This process usually takes 3-6 months.

srinihegde
Hi Sumit,

Your employer cannot do anything regarding your PF amount. Just fill in the attached Form-10C and Form 19 with all your details (the important ones being your PF account number and savings bank account number with address) and submit it to the Regional PF Office with a covering note stating the non-cooperation of your previous employer in withdrawing the PF amount. Address it to the Commissioner of the Regional PF Board. Before that, you may send the same request to your previous employer through RPAD and wait for a reply (maximum 15 days). This action would assist you in withdrawing your PF amount within 30 working days.

Stay cool,
Srini

Dear Sumita,

I agree with Sourabh. First, mutually decide what steps can be taken. Based on that, you can proceed.

Hi,

If you sign any agreement like that or you sign any conditional letter during your joining period, then you have to pay.

In case you need to withdraw a part of the amount from the PF account for the housing loan payment purpose, will this also take 2-3 months?

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi,

After submitting your PF withdrawal Form (Form 19 - PF & Form 10C - Pension), you can check your current PF status on www.epfindia.com. For this, you should be aware of your PF Account No. and Branch.

Sharmila.

Hi,

I am also working in an IT company. In this company, I have completed 5 years. In this case, I want to withdraw my PF amount. I asked my seniors if I can withdraw during the working period or only after leaving the job. They told me that it is impossible to withdraw during the working period; the PF amount can only be withdrawn after you leave the job.

Can you please provide me with a suggestion for this? I am awaiting your guidance.

Swapna

Mr. Pradeep, this is a simple matter. There is no need to worry about it. Simply fill out forms 10 and 19 and submit them at your nearest PF office. After verification, they will issue some cheque numbers. This process typically takes around 2 months or possibly within 45 days. Once completed, the funds will be directly deposited into your bank account using the address provided by you.

Sir,

If the employer refuses to sign the PF forms 19 and 10c for whatever reason it may be, you can go and meet the Assistant Commissioner in the PF office, and he would send an Enforcement Officer to get the papers signed by the employer. It is illegal on the part of the employer to refuse to sign the forms. But before doing all this, please verify whether you have completed all formalities of handing over, clearances, relieving, and settlement procedures, and nothing is pending from your side. A visit to the PF office would help clear all your doubts. The address you have to mention in the form is of the company where it is registered under the EPF Scheme. You should submit the forms in that PF office/city where the Company PF accounts are being maintained.

Swapna,

You cannot withdraw the PF money while in service. You may either partially withdraw or take a loan against it.

Hi Saurab,

If you are continuing work in the same company, you will not be able to withdraw PF for contributions made in this company; however, you can avail a loan from the PF office for marriage or medical emergencies. If you have left the company, you can apply for withdrawal after 60 days from your last day at your previous organization.

After you apply for withdrawal, it will take 45 to 60 days to receive the PF amount. You can download the forms from the PF website.

Dear Pradeep,

Regarding the withdrawal of PF from the company, if you take more than 6 months after resignation, you have to follow some procedures. These include providing address proof, a cancelled cheque leaf, and PF forms 10c & 19 (these are mandatory). Fill out the application and send it to your company; they must follow it because you are requesting your money. If they struggle to process it, you should inform the concerned PF office register, and they will take necessary action.

After submitting your application to the PF office, you will receive the money in your bank account within a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 45 days. To check whether your application has been processed or not, please find the link attached below: [EPFO](http://www.epfindia.com/) - (There is an option to check)

I believe I have provided all the necessary information.

Hi,

I agree with akki79 because we have to fill up Form 19 and Form 10C, then submit them to the regional office. You can also submit these forms at the PF office.

Dear Mr. Pradeep,

An employee can withdraw his PF accumulation by submitting Form No. 19 & 10C after a waiting period of two months from the date of resignation. It is not mandatory to get the forms certified by the employer only. There are options for certifying the PF Form which are clearly mentioned in the Form itself. For your information, the Form can be certified by any gazetted officer or the Manager of the Bank in which the employee has the Account, among many other options. The PF amount will be credited to your bank account given by you in the Form within one month, or the forms submitted by you will be returned after one month in case of any defects found while filling the Form. As per the law, the PF authorities cannot hold the Forms for a period longer than one month; otherwise, the person holding the same will be liable personally as per the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

The employer has no right to stop the employee from withdrawing his PF amount if already deposited and returns submitted.

Hope you got your answer.

Hi,

I have a total of 11 years of experience in Training and Development (Behavioral, Soft skills, and voice and accent). I currently hold the role of a training manager with a well-reputed organization; however, I will not be able to continue my services because I no longer want to work at night; hence, I am looking for a change in jobs.

I am considering freelancing. Can you please help with some contacts?

Cheers! Nirmala

Employee is entitled to get P.F. since it is your money. In case your employer refuses to forward your application, please directly send the application to the P.F. Commissioner with a complaint against your employer. They have ample powers to prosecute the employer. After all, it is your money. They cannot deduct arrears, nor can they insist on clearing the dues before forwarding your application.

Dear,

If you are working in the same company, you cannot withdraw your PF. You can either take a PF loan or transfer your amount from the Chennai office by filling out Form 13C (Revised).

You have to fill out the Form 19 and 10C and attach the current 3A along with obtaining a signature from the authority of your organization. Then, submit the form to the PF office and receive the acknowledgment. You will receive the PF amount within 45 days from the date of submission.

The best thing is, if you fill out transfer form no. 13 in your current organization, no one can stop your PF money.

Hi, I want to know, is it possible to withdraw PF after 2 years of working in the organization? For example, if two years have been completed and I am still working in the same company, can the PF be withdrawn?

Thank you.
govind_bfpl
Dear Pradeep,

As per my knowledge, if you are still in the same company, you are not able to withdraw such an amount and close the account unless you have a genuine reason. In such cases, you can take a loan against the amount deposited by showing reasons like a marriage in your family, major illness among family members, or the need to build a home.

Govind

Is it compulsory to have a canceled bank cheque for PF withdrawal? My bank account signature and PF account signatures are different. Will it create any problem?
