New Maharashtra Professional Tax Slabs: How Will This Affect Your Salary?

I wish to share with you that the Maharashtra State Government has issued a notification dated 27/6/2009. Effective from 01/07/2009, the Profession Tax slab is as follows:

I. Salary and Wages earners:
Such persons whose monthly salaries or wages:
(a) do not exceed rupees 5000 - NIL
(b) exceed rupees 5000 but do not exceed rupees 10000 - 175 per month
(c) exceed rupees 10000 - 2500 per annum to be paid in the following manner:
1. Rupees two hundred per month except for the month of February
2. Rupees three hundred for the month of February.

It's a valuable input for the deduction of Professional Tax from salary. As we know, there are slots for the deposit of Professional Tax to the government, with prescribed limits that allocate a due date for depositing with the government. Could you provide us with detailed information about that? If there is any new circular, change, or perhaps any updates to the existing practice.
