Exploring Current Training Trends: What Programs Suit Different Employee Levels?

Pradeep Janardhanan
Dear All,

I am looking for information on current trends in training and development. What kinds of programs are usually provided for different bands of employees? Any information on the same would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Warm regards,
Pradeep

Hi Pradeep,

In response to your question "what kinds of programs are usually given in what band of employees?", this is something that is not common to any company. It all depends on an in-depth Training Needs Analysis (TNA) from which training opportunities are identified, and then solutions are developed around it. The days are gone when training was more for the "feel-good" of employees. Therefore, there is no such "current trend" in training; it is very need-based.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Vivek.

Dear Pradeep,

The training programs differ between companies and the hierarchy within the company. In broad terms, it can be termed as soft skills training that is essential across all organizations irrespective of the domain, and this can be conducted for almost all employees irrespective of the cadre. There are different topics that you can cover, for example, communication skills, time management, conflict management, etc.

Hi,

In answer to your question:

Types of training are already mentioned by our friend Mohammed. What sort of training to which employee is decided by the TNA. Generally, it is found that:

(a) Entry-level employees need training on business communication (business writing, email etiquette, dress code, etc.).
(b) Team leaders need training on team building, leadership, motivation, handling a team meeting, etc.
(c) Project managers/middle managers generally need leadership training.

This is a general TNA; it depends on what kind of company you are in and also depends on individual employees.

Hope this helps,

Hi,

On July 1st, there was a seminar on best practices in the field of Training in Delhi, which was organized by ISTD. Some of the best-known brands in India participated and explained their best practices. I hope it will be published in the near future.

Hello Everyone,

I am new in this field, but my area of interest is HR. I am a second-year student of the M.B.A. program in Rajkot, Gujarat. Can anyone help me to know about the cost of a training program and how it can be reduced?

Thank you all,
HETAL
