MBA Student Needs Guidance on Tackling HRIS Training Module for Summer Project

nshivagunde
Hello. I'm an MBA student working on my summer project in HRIS. I'm tasked with working on the training module of HRIS. Please guide me on how to approach the project.

Thank you.

Hi Shiva!

Are you planning to work with a legacy system such as SAP or Peoplesoft, or will you be working on the design aspect of a Training Database System? If it's a generic project, you may wish to start with the Data Flow Model. First, make sure you have the Algorithm of Data, the Entry points, and the Data Interrelationships. To simplify, I am providing certain questions; just try to answer them, and you may end up with a workable model.

1. What information is required? How do you translate them into the form of a Database? How many interrelationships are there?
2. What will be the end product? Will it be a stand-alone warehouse or something that will keep changing? What relational changes are needed if it's a relational database?

Just my viewpoints. I think if you tell us something more regarding the project, the group will try to be of help.

Well, the software is already there. The various modules of HRIS are not integrated, but the database is common. So, as of yet, the training module is not functional, which I have to work on. Please tell me how to start working on the training module.

Shiva,

Is your project an HR project or a Systems project? Are you defining a process, or are you going to code? What is the scope of your project?

That you are working on the Training module of HRIS is not meaningful enough for someone to suggest.

It's an HR project. I have to determine how the HRIS is useful in meeting the needs of the HR department of the company.
