Is HR Really Less Valued Than Marketing and Finance? Seeking Career Growth Advice

I completed my MBA in HR. I have been working as an HR executive for the past 2 years. When I started my career in HR, I noticed that bosses often prioritize marketing and finance professionals. When I inquire about this, the typical response is that HR work is considered easy, non-monetary, while marketing and finance are seen as monetary roles. This seems to be a common perception everywhere. Is this true? Can you please clear my doubt? What can you tell me about the career growth prospects in HR? What steps should I take to advance in this field?

I work as a marketing professional. My job does not primarily focus on revenue generation, but it involves a lot of thinking and thought processes. I am sure that similar analytical skills are required in an HR job like yours.

It's difficult to determine which role is superior as an organization's success relies on the combined efforts of various departments. I acknowledge that HR jobs may offer a more relaxed environment, but undermining their importance does not contribute positively.

Leave alone what others think of HR; how do you feel about it? You are an MBA with specialization in HR. What are your thoughts on it? The value of a profession depends more on a professional's contribution. If you demonstrate through your contributions, you can show everyone how critical HR's role is in the organization. Hi Damodar,

Being in HR, you have to look at internal customers, which are your employees/colleagues, while being in Marketing, they have to focus on external customers of the organization. This is one difference, but your contribution to the organization is important whether you are in HR, Marketing, or Finance.

To clear this doubt, I am studying MBA with Bi-Majors in Marketing & HR. Marketing is related to creativity, and everyone knows that, but I am enjoying studying HR. It's totally a new thing to me, dealing with internal customers other than external customers.
