How Can We Boost Employee Motivation with Birthday Celebrations? Seeking Advice on Forming a Committee

Dear Friends,

Can anyone tell me how to motivate the employees? In my organization, every end of the month, we have a birthday celebration. I myself will organize everything and programs too in the celebration. Now, our management has planned to form a committee. Is that the right way to form a committee with the other department members for the arrangement? Please guide me.

Hi,

I don't think a committee will be a good idea for the birthday party as it may create a mess since somebody might not be interested in contributing money for others' birthdays. It's better if all the expenses are paid by the finance department only. They should allocate a budget for the party from their petty cash.

1. Even I am doing the same in our organization. We used to send a Rs. 150/- flower bouquet to every birthday boy/girl at their respective homes in the early morning with a beautiful card on their birthday.

2. We used to organize a birthday party and provide gifts for the birthday persons at the end of the month.

Thank you for the reply. Actually, we are getting funds from the finance department. I am asking to organize the event. Our management has planned to form a committee only to organize the events. Is that the correct way to involve other department persons in the committee? Because I hope organizing the events is the duty of the HR department. Please reply to me.
