My previous organisation had a practice called- Knowledge sharing. As and when a staff member gets an opportunity attend an external training/workshop conducted outside the organiation, he comes back and shares his learning with all /selected target staff. It will be either in a way of lecture/training programme or even, sending a document containing his learning.
We had few checks for this to happed regularly without fail:
1. This knowledge sharing will have some weightage on his annual appraisal score
2. His HOD will sanction his tour expense claim only after the sharing done.
3. He will be sent for another programme only after conducting a knowledge sharing session.
By this practice, we will get the best out of the knowledge he has gained.
