Madam/Sir,

Can an employer terminate an employee without any notice and written intimation about his termination? And is it valid to write in the appointment letter that we can terminate you at any time without any notice and written intimation?

Thank you,
Puneet Saxena

Yes, during the probation period, the company can terminate without assigning any reason, but for that, the appointment letter must indicate that clause clearly.

Thank you, sir, for your reply. But, sir, I want to ask if they can orally say that you are terminated, or they have to give it in writing.

Thanks and regards,

Dear Puneet,

When you are entering a contract in writing, how can you terminate it verbally? You have to provide notice and state the reason for termination.

Thank you.
