A Mechanic's Joke: What a Heart Surgeon Whispered That Made Everyone Laugh

mallet
A mechanic was removing the cylinder heads from the motor of a car when he spotted the famous heart surgeon in his shop, who was standing off to the side, waiting for the service manager to come to take a look at his car.

The mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hello Doctor! Please come over here for a minute."

The famous surgeon, a bit surprised, walked over to the mechanic. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag, and asked argumentatively, "So doctor, look at this. I also open hearts, take valves out, grind 'em, put in new parts, and when I finish this will work as good as a new one. So how come you get the big money when you and I are doing basically the same work?"

The doctor leaned over and whispered to the mechanic... What did he say? Guess... He said: "Try to do it when the engine is running."

Regards, Mallet.

The doctor is paid even if he fails to repair the heart in advance, but the mechanic doesn't receive an advance and is seldom paid if he fails to run the heart smoothly. This signifies education and skill.

An engineer's reply

Other than the heart of a car-that is engine-Few of the other parts are repaired while the engine is running in Formula 1 racing. Engineers don't just repair - They even upgrade the technology as it is man made (not defined by God) in the form of revisions. Engineer's can give you the characteristics of your neighbor's car if you envy it but a doctor can't give you a brain like that of Albert Einstein-Can he?

The surgical equipments, anti-rust surgical blades, MRI Scanners, X-Ray Machines, Microscopes, Medicine bottles, gloves and everything that a doctor uses from head to toe is made by ENGINEERS.

Just because a doctor repairs a God made object (Human Being) and an engineer repairs a man made object doesn't make doctors superior to engineers or GODLY though people think of doctors as Demi-Gods (The reason we are paid less).

Doctors do assist engineers in designing the equipments (for medicine) and engineers do seek the doctor for health problems.

An engineer can work without a doctor's prescription but a doctor can't - without an engineer's product. The pain that a patient gets when you operate him is removed due to Anesthesia-The cylinder which holds the gas is the product of a Mechanical engineer and the gas within; that of a Chemical Engineer. Examples of this sort - Millions I can write. Anyway this is my message…

BOTH NEED EACH OTHER

Though not directly related to HR, I am still seeking your help. Can anybody tell me about Just-in-Time (JIT) and its effect on workers and managers? Can you show me a site where I can share information on other subjects like operational management, MIS, and so on? Please come forward.

Regards,
SAIF
