Hi Swati,

I am seeking your assistance in formulating a Reward & Recognition Policy. It would be very helpful to me if you could share your organization's policy or provide guidance on how to create one. You can reach me via email at [swatilekha.saha@rediffmail.com](mailto:swatilekha.saha@rediffmail.com).

Thank you,
Swati

Hi Swati,

I am enclosing the HR policy for your reference. As such, there is no specific policy for Reward and Recognition. Corporates do recognize their employees in this form to create a talented and competitive environment where every individual's dream is to get recognized. In a nutshell, the management wants to check the performance and ability of its employees.

Hello, can anyone help me design an abbreviation of the word "PLATINUM" to motivate my sales team?

Hi Swati,

To frame a policy on R&R, first decide on the metrics to be measured. For example, if you want to reward someone for the maximum number of sales or attendance, etc. Based on that, you can reward them as the best performer, an extra miler, quality champion, etc. Also, you can introduce other concepts like the appreciation tree, pay it forward awards. Based on the nature of the company, you can decide upon these. Make sure you have an equal contribution of monetary and non-monetary benefits. Find out what would be relevant in your situation; based on that, it could be gifts, free medical check-ups, or family get-togethers. Always try to reward employees for their tenure in the organization. This would directly help in retention and employee engagement.

Hi Swati,

We have R&R every month and we have certain set-ups like:

A board which is hung up at the R&R ceremony, which is branding for R&R. It has to be motivational and talk about the company's interest in rewarding employees.

We also have a victory wall and a wall of fame. We put up employees' photographs on the victory wall who win for that particular month. Employees who are toppers consecutively for 6 months would be on the Wall of Fame.

We also make A3 posters of employees who win consecutively with their comments and put them all across the office on pillars.

All these help in motivating the employees. Apart from this, we have awards for support functions and operations.

For support, it is quarterly and for operations, it is on a monthly basis, and we concentrate on the executives to boost them up.

We normally give Sodexo passes, Big Bazaar vouchers, Shoppers Stop vouchers, and so on... Once we even gave them Fast Track watches.

You can decide on the number of gifts or vouchers to be given based on your budget and your employee population.

Hi, sir,

I completed my MBA in HR from a reputed institute. I am looking for opportunities in the hotel industry. How will the growth opportunities be in this field? With this experience, is it possible to transition into the manufacturing industry? Please advise me on this matter.

With regards,
