Its better to go through the syllabus and concepts for HR elective in UGC exam and prepare accordingly referring HR books of MBA and various authors such as Flippo, Ashwathappa....

from this year onwards there is negative marking in ugc net for objective questions....
as far as book is concerned , u can buy trueman publications book meant especially for ugc net. there will be two books from this publication house. one is general book for all streams which includes reasoning, general knowledge, number series, teching aptitude etc alongwith sample question papers and another is your subject book i.e managemt book.. which will include the sylabus for ur objective and subjective paper..

Iam doing MBA in HR specialisation from kakatiya university, Warangal Andhra Pradesh.
I have completed 8 HR elective subjects in my 2 year mba course.

there is negative marking from this year and even the paper pattern has changes. log on to UGC website to see the details..
