Lateral Thinking has been termed so by EDWARD DE BONO. it allows a person to see things from a different perspective.

Very nice presentation. To my mind, everybody cannot think laterally on all subjects and therefore it can also be a tool to detect potential. My own article on the subject featuring the greatest Lateral thinker of India, Dhirubhai Ambani:-
