Understanding Tax Obligations on a Rs. 15,000 Salary in Karnataka: PF, Professional Tax, and Deductions

vickeykumar29
Hi,

I get a consolidated salary of Rs. 15,000 per month. I want to know whether I have to pay PF (Provident Fund) or professional tax. What are the criteria for payment of professional tax in Karnataka and the applicable slab rates?

Additionally, how do I calculate my income tax on my salary income and what deductions can I avail? I also have investments in life insurance.

Looking forward to your response soon.

Thank you in advance.

You are required to pay Professional Tax (PT) as per the following tax slabs:

1. Up to 9999/- - No Tax
2. 10,000/- to 14,999/- - 150/-
3. 15,000/- and above - 200/-

Please also verify this information with a tax professional.
