Affordable Short-Term HR Certifications: Any Recommendations for Online or Workshop Options?

Dear All,

I have currently taken a break from work and am looking to pursue some certificate courses in HR. Can anyone suggest courses that can be taken online or in the form of workshops (non-residential)? I did check with SHRM and other international organizations for certification programs but found them to be extremely expensive.

Please recommend courses that are cost-effective, can be completed in a short duration (1 to 3 months), and are valued by companies in India. I believe this information would be useful to other members as well!

Hi, Girish:

Your first task may be to look at which facet of HR you would want to chart a career in. I mean one could obtain a lot of generic certifications and gain minimal value vis-a-vis actually pursuing some quality specialized certifications. Possibly, the CPBA (certification to read and counsel based on DISC Reports) could be a good starting point for Training or Performance Appraisals, Competencies, etc.
