akshaybhakre
Hi Akshay,

I am Akshay, pursuing my MBA in HR from Mumbai. Currently, I am completing my internship in a logistics company, which has recently established an HR department within the organization. I am seeking guidance on how to introduce new HR policies in the organization. Could you please suggest any relevant links, notes, or books that are available? Your prompt assistance would be greatly appreciated as this is urgent.

With regards,
Akshay
Hi Akshay,

Framing HR policies is quite a scientific and herculean task. I have had the opportunity to do the same for a local company. Initially, I thought of conducting a needs analysis to understand the requirements of the employees. Based on this analysis, we prioritized the policies to be formulated.

The next step involved benchmarking other similar organizations to comprehend different HR policies. Once you have benchmarked, you will have a lot of data that needs to be customized according to your needs analysis survey. Ideally, you could start by conducting a SWOT analysis of the existing systems.

Please let me know if you require any further information.

Thank you.

First step is to create the organization structure. Then, set roles and responsibilities for each position. Next, establish general rules for employee discipline. HRM is typically divided into three main parts: Administration & Management, Compensation Management, and Training & Development. Follow this process to create policies for all three areas. Thanks. Text me if you need a brief explanation.
