Hi,

Can anyone explain to me the difference between personnel management and HRM?

Hi,

There is a very thin line difference between "Personnel" and "Human Resource Management" and i.e., the word "Development."

Personnel Management is more of old economy verbiage, whereas HRM belongs to the new economy. Personnel Management was more operational in nature, whereas HRM is more strategic. Personnel Management was responsive to organization needs and requirements, while HRM is proactive in meeting any requirements.
