5S is not segregated like manufacturer, hr or something other field. 5S is a concept, it is a principle how you wants to live your life. You can also implement this concept into your day to day life like in your kitchen, in your bed room, in your car & in your office everywhere you need to maintain 5S which makes your lifestyle easy.

Any way I have some ppt but I can not post it here as it is my official training material. So that person who wants kindly sends your email id so that I can share with you.

5S is basically a Japanese practice. It was 1st used in Manufacturing side. But now u can used it in any department. And this is more related to lean Manufacturing or management.
Sort: Clearing the work area
Set in Order: Designating locations
Shine: Cleanliness & workplace appearance
Standardize: Everyone doing things the same way
Sustain: Ingraining the 5S's into the culture

5S is a system to reduce waste and optimize productivity through maintaining an orderly workplace and using visual cues to achieve more consistent operational results. It derives from the belief that, in the daily work of a company, routines that maintain organization and orderliness are essential to a smooth and efficient flow of activities. Implementation of this method “cleans up” and organizes the workplace basically in its existing configuration, and it is typically the starting point for shop-floor transformation. The 5S pillars, Sort (Seiri), Set in Order (Seiton), Shine (Seiso), Standardize (Seiketsu), and Sustain (Shitsuke), provide a methodology for organizing, cleaning, developing, and sustaining a productive work environment. 5S encourages workers to improve the physical setting of their work and teaches them to reduce waste, unplanned downtime, and in-process inventory. A typical 5S implementation would result in significant reductions in the square footage of space needed for existing operations. It also would result in the
organization of tools and materials into labeled and color coded storage locations, as well as “kits” that contain just what is needed to perform a task. 5S provides the foundation on which other lean methods, such as TPM, cellular manufacturing, just-in-time production, and six sigma, can be introduced effectively.

Very useful PPT,

Yes, this comes under TQM, but it is useful in all departments and even in our daily life. 5S stands for five good housekeeping principles.
I.e. 1S- Sorting / Cleaned up, 2S - Organize and Identify, 3S - Regular Cleaning and Maintenance, 4S - Standardize - Make easy to Maintain and 5S - Sustain the system.
Thank You for sharing
