Struggling to Retrieve My PF Account Number from Former Employer – Any Advice?

I was working for American Express (India) Private Limited, Commercial Block 3, (Zone 6), DLF City, Phase - V, Gurgaon as a Customer Care Professional. I joined the above said company on 06.08.2007 and resigned on 31.12.2007. My Employee ID was 56582. I received a clearance letter from the company dated 20.02.2009 mentioning that all my dues were clear from their side but did not receive the information regarding the PF amount deducted from my salary during the above said period. I am trying to get my PF account number from the company but am unable to get the desired information from them. Please help me in getting my PF account number.

I'm not sure how this portal will be able to assist you in getting your PF account number. However, let me try:

1. If you have access to your previous payslips, try looking for your PF account number on them.
2. Call the HR department and ask for your PF account number, providing your Employee ID for reference.
3. If you are unable to reach them by phone and you are in Delhi NCR, consider visiting the office in person to meet with the HR representative for assistance.

Mr. Neeraj has replied correctly. You have to contact the HR Department of your ex-employer to get your P.F. account number, in case it is not traceable from the records available with you.

You can check your salary slip; it contains no comma. If you can't get there, then you can contact the PF Regional Office regarding your PF number.
