Seeking Budget-Friendly HR Event Ideas for a Software Company: What Do You Suggest?

Dear All,

I have recently joined this community. I must say it's a great help for HR professionals. I would welcome your suggestions and ideas on less expensive HR events/practices that can be implemented in a software company. This could include birthday and marriage celebrations, long-service awards, festival celebrations/organizing traditional days, in-house refresher programs for employees, and team-building trips.

Many of the HR activities and gatherings will have an objective behind them, so you should have mentioned the main motive and objective behind organizing these things.

If your company is smaller in size, like 50-200 employees, you could consider conducting an event such as cubicle decoration. This was a huge hit at my previous company, and a feeling of ownership of the workplace may develop among the employees. You can make "recycle" the theme.

Apart from these, let me know the objectives, and I could share with you some more activities.

All the best!

Hi Bincy,

You can also consider implementing ethnic wear for your employees. You could organize a special day, like Women's Day, where male colleagues can write positive comments about a particular female colleague and place them in a box. At the end of the day, the female employee with the highest number of comments can be awarded a prize. You can create more activities based on whether they are intended for enjoyment or knowledge-building.

Please let me know if you require any further assistance.

You can even try out days when some games can be held both indoors and outdoors, like relays, which boost team spirits too. Also, you can try your hand at sending out emails by naming them as HR Refresher, which can capture the latest buzz of the organization or include some motivational thoughts or any PowerPoint presentation like that. :)
