Seeking Feedback: Are My Candidate Personality Questions Effective?

nithya_hr
Hi,

I have studied some websites and prepared some questions to assess the personality of candidates. Kindly review them and let me know if any changes are needed in my set of queries.

Dear Nithya,

I feel that when we pose these kinds of questions to the candidates, we often receive very standard answers since they have prepared themselves for such questions by visiting websites. Similarly, the candidates would have done the same and planned their responses accordingly. In my opinion, questions should not be predetermined; they should flow naturally. Only then can we truly discern the strengths and weaknesses of the candidates.

Cheers,

Dear Nithya,
I too feel the same as Anisha has already stated, candidates are well prepared for these types of questions. I have personally counseled a lot of candidates on interview preparation and I was really amazed by the amount of preparation goes in before they start giving interviews.
None the less it could still be effective if you can time these questions properly taking, taking the candidate by surprise.
My preference would be to pull the same areas from the candidates resume.
The secret of conducting a successful interview is to be clear on what you intend to check, the way you route the entire interview process towards your objective and finally how you make the candidate do most of the talking.
Hope I haven't confused you.
