Can anyone please tell whether ESI is applicable in Educational Institutes or not and what is the ceiling limit for handicapped persons? I have heard it is 25K. Is it true or not?
As per my knowledge, ESI is applicable to educational institutions, and there is no special provision of 25k as a ceiling limit for differently-abled people. The usual norms are applicable to differently-abled people as well.
Thank you, Shreekanth, for the valuable information. However, I have come to know from reliable sources that ESI is applicable only on educational institutes and hospitals in Haryana and Rajasthan from January 30, 2009. Whereas, it is not applicable in other states.
