Ask about the basics of recruitment and also the current trends in the industry. Explore strategies for cost minimization in recruitment and how to attract the right candidates for the position.

Thank you!

Will ask about yourself.

Aware of job portals like Naukri and Monster.

Go and give your best shot in the interview.

All the best.

As you say they are freshers, your interview could be more theoretical and behavioral than practical.

Some of the questions that came to my mind:

1. Tell about yourself
2. Recruitment cycle and understanding of all stages
3. Different sources for sourcing and what does he think which one is the best
4. Idea about the demand and supply of human capital in the market
5. Choice between selection between two candidates as an example
6. Questions on patience because that is more needed during the joining period
7. What does he know about the company; this shows how well he can pitch about the company and how he has prepared for the interview

There might be more questions depending on the answers. You can also check his initiative and ownership skills in his academic career.

And one more suggestion, your question should have been: what are the skills one must look for in a fresher for a recruiter position rather than what are the questions.

Anyways, all the best. Wish you get the right candidates.

Please don't ask this question "TELL ABOUT YOURSELVES." This question is really not a good one for HR. Be very specific about what you want to know from the candidate and ask questions that are relevant to the position. You know the right questions to ask.

Hello,

Good job, Naveen! Apart from the above questions, kindly focus on the following too: In times of recession, how do you think HR can add value? What areas can you, as a fresher, contribute to for the betterment of the process? How is the recruitment industry performing? Have you done any research on the same? Can you briefly explain the Performance Management system that you have learned, and which one do you think would be best to implement?

Thanks
Ash Mathew
Hi PHardeep,

If you are the interviewer, please ask the question "Tell me about yourself."

If you are the candidate:
Please prepare for this question because your self-image, background, confidence, and passion for the job will be gauged in this.

Hi,

Please try to check for which industry segment you would be recruiting and try to get some ideas in that field. If you are internet savvy, ensure you add that to your advantage to collect information at a faster pace.

All the best

Also, do some brush up on headhunting. In this market, teams concentrate on cost-cutting. So, if you can read something on that, it will help.
