Recent Change in Apprentices Act: Can Apprentices Now Work Night Shifts? Seeking Clarification

We have come to know that there was a recent amendment in the Apprentices Act stating that apprentices shall be allowed to work in night shifts as well. If this is correct, could anyone please send a copy of the amendment for our reference?

There is no amendment as such. Even if you ask me, apprentices are kept to give them on-the-job training and not for doing company work. So, what schedule will you make to give them training at night? Therefore, there is no possibility of such an amendment.

Thank you, Malik Shab, for this update. We don't engage any apprentices, but someone told me that there was an amendment in the recent past for which he needs confirmation from the HR fraternity.

I have not come across any such amendment. However, the training time has been specified in the Apprenticeship rules.
