From my observation, I find a lot of humorous and unrelated content on this platform. This website is meant for HR professionals to share knowledge, which has proven to be very helpful for many.

A lot of topics are coming in the humour section, and other HR-related topics are being hidden. So, my thinking is that a person should be able to only post once in the humour section in a whole day. Then it will be controlled. What do others say?

Shiv, why don't you concentrate on other forums than Humor? If you don't like postings, then just ignore and focus on other forums. There are so many postings in this forum because people want a little humor in their daily hectic schedule full of tensions, and thus they get relieved and really enjoy this. That's why there are so many views.

Those who are not interested can simply ignore visiting this section of citeHR. No one is compelling you to read this and comment.

I think Shiva is right. If we require fun, why don't we go to the other side? I am asking all of you, are you sure about all the guys and gals; they will not mess up some unrequited matters. If you guys want to have fun and enjoy, you can go to Gmail, Orkut, or other similar sites for this fun happening. Please don't mess it up. I still say, those who don't want to engage in humor can focus on other forums. There's no compulsion; no one is forcing them to visit posts that are humorous. 🤷🏻‍♂️

As far as I can see, all the replies are mostly in favor of humor. What's the problem, dude? Just chill. Anyways, most of the companies are busy laying off employees or have decided on no increases and bonuses. Let's keep your spirit high on this one... No major discussions happening recently.

I think the majority is right, but at the same time, the primary focus Shiv or Shiva (I am confused, sorry!) is trying to put on guys is that the people here are often visiting the humor section comparatively more when you look at other forums. Many times even I have noticed that the post which hardly makes much sense is answered by numerous people, whereas a posting put up by a person who actually needs suggestions is desperate for valuable suggestions and is not getting any help as the concentration of most people is diverted to this humor forum. I agree choice is all ours, but don't you guys think that the person who needs our suggestions in actual sense deserves the response more than the love poem or a joke in the humor section? I apologize in advance for anything that is mistaken from the other person's end. But understand it is just my opinion on the issue.

I'm not offending you guys. Actually, to some extent, Shiva is right. Even I like humor, and as you all know, I am a humor in myself. But it should be in a controlled manner. I don't want to stop this, but I want it to be controlled. How, as we are all chatting here, it's okay, no problem, because it's required for us to work effectively when we're getting bored or whatever. We are getting some relaxation here.

However, starting a number of topics in a day is not good because other HR topics are disappearing in this. ((Am I wrong then object me)). So, my thinking is if one member will post one humor post in a day, it will be okay. I must say it will be controlled, and people can enjoy as well. What do you say, my funny guys? Am I not wrong?

When it comes to the Humour session, the postings in this forum will be humorous. In what way do you want to control this and why? If you want HR-related stuff, then you have different forums in Cite-hr itself. If we start HR stuff here, then can we call this a Humour session?

Yes, Cite-hr is meant for HR-related stuff, but this doesn't mean that we should be very serious with HR-related matters alone. On one side, we have several sessions in Cite-hr to discuss HR-related stuff, and on the other side, to balance our stress, we have a humour session where we can relax ourselves.

Okay, tell me one thing, why are we employed by companies? ... To work. Are we only working there... tell me... no, we work as well as enjoy... Likewise, when it comes to Cite-hr, we post HR-related stuff as well as humorous postings. No one can stop us. In case you are so specific about this, then ignore the Humour session and concentrate on other forums where you can find only HR, HR, HR, HR...

If you say that Cite-hr is meant only for HR-related matters, then why do many HR professionals respond and spend their time in the humour session? Guys, no one is forcing you to respond to the posts in the Humour session, so if you don't like such discussions, kindly ignore them.

There is nothing here to get angry. Anyways, you all are my friends. Can't I take that liberty to speak a bit straightforward to you people? I know that you are not asking us to stop it; instead, you wanted that these types of posts should be in a controlled manner - one post by one person for a day, right? My question is why is that restriction in this session alone?

It's not a matter of enjoyment. There are several other aspects of life, both personally and professionally, we learn from the Humor session. Please look at the postings:

1. We learn what is meant by love and affection without which we cannot lead a happy life.
2. We learn that now it's our turn to take care of our parents, please don't ignore them.
3. We learn that apart from our job, we should find some time for our family. Do you think that everyone has sufficient time for their family members in this busy world? I don't think so.
4. We learn the values of life - Relationships, Good/Bad, Behavior, Decisions, Problems/Solutions, etc.
5. As an HR professional, the first thing that we should know is how to handle tough people/situations, and we learn that too from here, and so on.

If I start pointing them out, then I require the entire day for it. Out of every 100 posts, at least 90% of posts have some good moral in them. Why don't you just search for it and take the good alone? We people will enjoy as well as learn the good and try to be far away from the bad.
