Transitioning to SAP Functional Consultant in Payroll: What Resources Should I Explore?

Hi all,

I just completed my SAP certification in the HR module from Siemens, Hyderabad, and scored 83%. I have 3 years of experience in HR generalist roles, but now I am looking to transition into the role of Functional Consultant, specifically focusing on Payroll.

I am seeking online resources or books to enhance my knowledge of Payroll until I secure a job in this field. Any guidance or suggestions on what steps I should take would be greatly appreciated.

If you only want experience, check and network with people and firms as per below.

Till the time that you can actually get a job, why don't you do an internship with a payroll firm, e.g., Crossdomain, or perhaps you can enroll in payroll training by signing up for Tally/Quickbooks. Also, you can check and find out from HR Manpower Planning & Consulting firms to whom the payroll function has been outsourced. Additionally, try to network with Chartered Accountants who would have an idea of which firms are outsourcing payroll functions. Check in the yellow pages to see which consulting firm specializes in or provides services in Payroll.
