Hello Nusrat,

Where are you working right now and what type of information do you need? I am also working in HR, which is related to hospitals and education.

Hi,

In a medical college and hospital, you have to follow the MCI rules and regulations for recruitment and other related HR activities. Firstly, you have to understand the hospital setup and hierarchy as per the MCI.

Hi,

I am also working in the health sector as an HR professional. Recently, a government hospital was taken over by the private sector. Could you please provide insights into the scope of HR job opportunities within the health sector, considering your experience in this field? Additionally, I am curious if transitioning from the service sector, such as healthcare, to the manufacturing sector is a common career path.

Thank you.

Hi, this is Pradeep. Recently, I joined a hospital as an HR. Earlier, this hospital was a proprietor-based one, but now it is changed to a Pvt Ltd. Can you tell me what necessary rules and regulations need to be implemented?

Hi,

This is rightly said by Rashmi, MCI guideline needs to be followed. For recruitment, it is totally different than any other corporate. There are specific criteria for Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Tutor. Even for the paramedical staff and other staff, there is specific criteria prescribed by MCI. No manpower planning from our side can run. MCI has its own criteria. For the first year of medical college, the total manpower requirement is 110 (only doctors), and after completing five years, the requirement goes up to 310.

Retention tools, compensation packages, and training are completely different from any other corporate. Sometimes management knows that medical faculties for a specific branch are not performing well; still, due to the scarcity of senior faculty, you cannot retrench them. Otherwise, there will be a scarcity of medical faculty that MCI cannot tolerate. I had a small but good exposure in both medical college and hospital. It was a transaction phase from government to private.
