Can any body provide me notification/circular from govt regarding holiday on the day of voting.
what are the general guidelines/practices regarding paid holiday on the day of voting.

There is a practice in some organizations that instead of giving a holiday, employees are allowed for 2 to 3 hours for the purpose of voting. Please clarify whether it is ok or it is necessary to declare a holiday.

Read the FULL Notification Prasad....the last lines answer your query. Shifts, etc are exempted, with some sort of an arrangement to vote AS WELL AS to work.
